Colombia | Valle del Cauca Sugarcane Decaf
Valle del Cauca Sugarcane EA Decaf – All the Flavor, None of the Caffeine
This full-flavored Colombian decaf comes from smallholder farms in the Valle del Cauca, a lush growing region wedged between protected national parks. The caffeine is removed using the Ethyl Acetate (EA) method, with the EA naturally derived from fermented sugarcane rather than synthetic solvents, so the coffee keeps its sweetness and body instead of tasting stripped-down.
- Origin: Valle del Cauca, Colombia
- Altitude: 1,750 masl
- Process: Washed, EA (Sugarcane) Decaffeination
- Flavor notes: Milk chocolate, almond, strawberry, vanilla
Proof that decaf doesn't have to mean flavorless.
About the source
Grown by a group of smallholders across Colombia's Valle del Cauca, one of the country's key biological conservation corridors, sitting between protected national parks and a UNESCO World Heritage agroecology site. The green coffee is processed using the sugarcane-derived EA method before export, preserving the Caturra and Castillo varietals' natural sweetness without the harsher chemical solvents used in older decaf processes.
